Usability reviews
In addition to designing and developing sites and applications, we also perform usability reviews. This generally takes just a few short days, and always has incredible value.
First, we chat about your project to see what you think the issues are and go over whatever materials you can send us (existing site, wireframes, artwork, or something else).
What we do
For the review, we do a cognitive walkthrough of the materials to look at:
- what's being communicated and why
- task flows
- individual interactions
- terminology
- visual design
- structure
- methods for handling errors
- and so on
We make notes on the current design, and we look for ways to:
- simplify task flows
- make valuable information easier to find
- encourage users to take action
- drive funding
- build your community and form meaningful relationships
- make interactions more understandable
- reduce clutter
- prevent and detect errors
- minimize copy
- reduce the cognitive load
When this is all done, we put together a full (but very concise and readable) report and schedule a conference call to go over everything.
